Good to Know Before You Go
The Ayung River is set in a beautiful tropical valley and surrounded by lush jungle. As part of the experience, reaching the river involves a short walk and some stairs.
There is approx a 12-minute walk down toward the starting area, and the finishing point also involves some stairs back up from the river. For most travelers with normal fitness this is manageable. If you are traveling with elderly guests or someone with limited mobility, please let us know and we will be happy to advise whether Ayung river is okay or recommend another option.

What we liked:
- The pick-up and drop-off with the van was really good, the driver is nice and welcoming.
- The explanation at departure is clear and the rafting specialist is really good. The lunch at the end is simple but nice.
- The trip is nice, nature is awesome and the waterfalls perfect for pictures.
What we did not like:
- They don’t have a credit/debit card system so all is in cash despite what they say in the email
- The river is very dirty at some places with lots of rubbish entangled in branches or on the river bed, considering that there are so many companies operating the river rafting, it would take them altogether max 1-2 days to make it clean again. :( , especially since they are not busy now with the Corona virus.
- The mandatory break at mid-distance in a small shop feels more like a trap than a service. They charged us 50,000IDR for a coconut (x3) , which is ridiculous and you can’t bargain because you don’t have cash on hand (as you left it at the departure office).
So the experience was good overall, kids got good memories.

- Payment Method: We normally accept both credit/debit cards and cash. Unfortunately, on the day of your visit, our card system experienced a technical issue and was undergoing maintenance by our bank.
- River Cleanliness: A few days before your trip, there were heavy rains and floods, which unfortunately washes natural debris and rubbish down from upstream, which naturally clears up over time with the river's flow.
- Lastly, Please note that the small shops (warungs) along the river are owned and operated by independent local villagers, not by our company. We do not have control over their prices. However, we will share your feedback with them regarding their pricing.
